Overall good sports game. The game play is smooth, except the controls are kinda sketchy. I recommend using a game controller instead of the keyboard as I found using my keyboard to be kinda difficult. I enjoy playing this game everyonce in a while. The graphics look great.
Pros:Visually it looks amazing. On defense if you run by a player you're not guarding the AI will automatically call a switch for you leaving C. Great detail, player movement. I seldom can justify buying a game at full price but for this one I can say it was worth it.
The game is frustrating however I've played it for a hundred or so hours so I suppose it must be a little fun.As with most sports games an Xbox 360 controller is a must. Billups guarding Shaq or something ridiculous like that. For instance, sometimes the ref will hold on to the ball for 10-15 seconds before tossing to to the player for an inbound or free throw (even more annoying when the computer gets an "and 1" after making one of those leaning, fall away 3 pointers) Another one, after manually calling a timeout the computer will immediately call one for you right after. The Easy mode is too easy, the next 2 easiest are too frustrating, and the most difficult is impossible. Also, there seems to be a lot of little bugs. It's playable with a keyboard however it is much easier and much more enjoyable with a dual analog controller. For instance, sometimes the ref will hold on to the ball for 10-15 seconds before tossing to to the player for an inbound or free throw (even more annoying when the computer gets an "and 1" after making one of those leaning, fall away 3 pointers)Others:I have lots of little gripes however this was the first 2k basketball game for pc so hopefully they will fix some of the issues in 2k10. First PC sports game I've seen that uses next gen graphics.
Your players will miss wide open layups and then the computer will turn around and hit a leaning, fall away 3 pointer from 2 steps behind the line. Also, there seems to be a lot of little bugs. (Be sure to buy 2 to account for the one you will undoubtedly be throwing threw your monitor) Lots of cool plays, nice practice mode, fun "street ball" side games.Great price. Cons:Incredibly annoying AI.
when that finished, however, the game ran really slow on my computer and I cannot get through a game without my computer freezing. I have had much better experience with them. I read some good reviews on this game and bought it based on those reviews. I am very dissapointed that EA sports has stopped making pc games. In my opinion, save your money and skip this game. I am very dissapointed with it. I didnt mind having to have a steam account or the extremely long update it had to do.
The only difference is that the graphics and the gameplay are improved immensely. Also, I have two controllers which both work great (Logitech Dual, and XFX Wireless Controller). If you're a newbie to the gaming world on PCs and aren't quite sure why games don't always work on different PCs, then I'd stay away from high spec games like this and stick to consoles for them.
with most options cranked up all the way).Otherwise, if you like basketball games. (I run it on a Dell Inspiron 1520, Vista.
I've been playing PC NBA games from "Lakers vs Celtics" and "MJ vs Larry Bird 1on1" to "Magic Johnson's Fastbreak",to "NBA JAM" and onto "NBA Live" and. Most players look the part (even to them gathering more sweat as the game progresses) and the rest of the presentation is just great (including the top 3 plays and the ability to have replay packages on every individual player in a game).I'm not actually sure what all the complaints here are about (although I do notice that none of them are about the actual game, more the compatibility, or running issues).
then this is the ONLY game you need for the PC (until 2K10 of course). and this game definitely takes the cake.Basically if you've played the other NBA2K titles you know what to expect.
Lots of game modes, lots of moves and fantastic sound.
Even with the debillitating menu system it is a fantastic game. If the menu system were better, or if there were documentation to explain the menu system at least, then it would be a 5 star game for sure. Best PC basketball game ever - for playability. Horribly menu system.
